A Swiss 18k gold and micromosaic snuff box

early 19th century
representing scenes of the Roman rural life. The golden parts are finely elaborated with floral motifs and enamel decorations, goldsmith Jean-François Bautte (Geneva 1772 - 1837). The historical model of which was taken the inspiration for the cover of the box is probably a painting of Bartolomeo Pinelli (Rome 1781 - 1835). 2x8,5x6,5 cm.
