"Cleopatra", oil on panel within golden and lacquered wood coeval frame.
Work attributed to the Bronzino by Amadore Porcella with written and signed communication on a dry printed picture describing the work as follows:
A twofold influence by Raffaellesca-Michelangiolesca characterizes this sensible cleopatra that would be inspired by the so-called "Fornarina" already home Barberini, now in the Borghese gallery.
The color rendering is achieved with a high performance, with subtle clarifying details that give a particular softness of contours.
The soft contours of Leonardesca influence, that will become a classic in the late five hundred Florentine paintings for the Bronzino, impeccable designer, will allow to achieve meaningful effects without removing plasticity in shapes.
Condition: The painting surface is in good condition, the examination with the Wood lamp shows a restoration in the right eye area and other minor non-significant restorations, 84x57 cm.
