"Untitled", 1968-69, sculpture panel in aluminum and wood Literature: Salvatore Messina (Palermo, 1916 – Venice, 1982), was a sculptor and painter whose works are today present in important collections (such as that of the historian and gallery owner Claudia Gian Ferrari) and exhibition areas (the sculpture Tensioni, 1979, can be visited at the Gibellina museum). Messina participated several times in the Rome Quadrennial and the Venice Biennale and his works were exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Milan, Florence, Hanover (Moderne Italienische Bildhauer), Lisbon, Buenos Aires, Tokyo and Hong Kong. In 1957, in Carrara, he won the International Prize for Contemporary Sculpture.
